Location Centre for Reproductive Health, Daresbury Park, Cheshire
Reports to Health Care Assistant
Salary Range Band 3
  • To assist registered Nurses in the development and delivery of high quality care to individual patients and to be accountable for one’s actions and decisions while working at all times under the direction of a registered nurse.
  • May be required to work in other clinical areas as appropriate to meet the needs of the service as directed by the Nurse Manager or nurse in charge.
Qualifications, required attributes and experience
  • A care-related qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent, to demonstrate willingness to undertake further training.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to seek relevant advice and support.
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently when appropriate with minimal supervision.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic and flexible attitude towards work and ability to work hours that are flexible to service needs.
Responsibilities and objectives
  • To provide care to all patients in a professional manner.
  • At all times to advocate for the patient.
  • To work with all colleagues in the multidisciplinary team in order to achieve the goal of high quality care for all patients.
  • To support other members of the multidisciplinary team in order to achieve our mission objectives.
  • To chaperone the patient.
  • To provide support and reassurance to the patient.
  • To assist the Fertility Nurses according to the needs of the clinic.
  • To assist the Consultants according to the needs of the clinic.
  • To assist in outpatient procedures such as HyCoSy.
  • To ensure rooms are stocked with the necessary sterile supplies and stationery.
  • To undertake other nursing and administrative duties within the scope of training and skill to assist in the smooth running of the clinics.
  • To assist in the movement of patients through the clinic.
  • To help prepare clinics.
  • To answer telephone calls and ensure prompt and accurate communication to other members of the team.
  • To participate in such audits and data collection as is necessary to assess the outcome of the clinical work.
  • To ensure they attend relevant training, courses and post graduate meetings to maintain their professional development relevant to the role they are undertaking.
