What Gynaecological investigations and tests do we provide?

Quickly diagnosing any women’s health problems is incredibly important in getting your health back on track. Our private and comprehensive gynaecology services give you the diagnosis and care you need to make a full, quick recovery.

We provide many state-of-the-art tests for gynaecological issues, which will in turn provide quick and effective treatment. These include:

Hysteroscopy

Hysteroscopy or visualisation of the uterine cavity is a test which can be carried out to diagnose any problems inside the womb. The investigation is similar to a cervical smear.

Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy is an operation carried out under general anaesthetic which allows our private gynaecologist to examine the pelvic cavity and pelvic organs (uterus, tubes and ovaries).

HSG

HSG (hysterosalpingogram) is a screening test that assesses the patency of a woman’s fallopian tubes

Saline Infusion Sonography

This technique involves the use of fluid to distend the womb along with a high-resolution internal scan to examine the uterine cavity.

HyCoSy

This is a screening test that specifically focuses on the fallopian tubes to check whether they are blocked or not. This technique involves the use of contrast fluid.

Ultrasound scans

Ultrasound scans are quick, painless scans which can be used to diagnose gynaecological issues. All our consulting rooms have ultrasound scanners which will enable instant testing by our consultants.

Cervical Smear Test

A cervical smear test may be carried out to check if the cells on the cervix are as they should be. If left untreated any abnormal cells may develop into cancer. Regular testing can help to prevent cervical cancer.

Cervical Health Check

A Cervical Health Check is a comprehensive suite of tests to screen for abnormal cells on the cervix. The check can also test for the HPV virus and signs of a Chlamydia infection.

Tumour markers

We also provide testing for tumour markers, which are substances produced by cancer or by other cells of the body in response to certain benign conditions.
