In the latest of our series of ‘Meet the team’ blogs, we introduce Jane Coulson, who is a key member of our patient services team.
How did you begin your career in IVF?
I joined RHG as Quality Manager / Care Co-Ordinator in September 2017
What are your main day to day responsibilities at RHG?
I have a dual role.
I manage the Quality Management System which houses all the documents we use such as policies, procedures, patient information leaflets, forms, consent forms etc.
I liaise with staff members on reviewing the documents so they are up to date with amendments made where necessary.
In my other role, I liaise with patients supporting them through their IVF journey and being there to answer questions they may have and liaising with the doctors and nurses on their behalf.
What aspect of your role is the most rewarding?
I am extremely organised and so enjoy being the link to ensure all the documents we hold are reviewed and amended as needed as well as being housed in the correct place so they can be found easily. Dealing with Patients and helping them thorough their journey is becoming a reward and as I get more months under my belt I know it will be something I enjoy very much.
What has been your proudest moment at RHG?
Getting my first document reviewed and controlled and understanding how the Quality Management System works.
What new services and innovations are you most looking forward to?
I am looking forward to getting on top of the reviews and having a system that works for all as well as participation in the patient feedback questionnaires and patient events.
