Support Services

Supporting you through fertility treatment

RHG-IVF Life offers important fertility support services to help you through your fertility treatment, pregnancy, and beyond.

We believe that an integrated approach to fertility treatment offers benefits to our patients, particularly for emotional wellbeing.  It can also help with relaxation, and there is evidence that stress-reduction therapy during fertility treatment is beneficial.

Our counselling and nutrition therapy services are in accordance with the guidance and recommendations of the HFEA. For information on the benefits and limitations of complementary and alternative therapies in fertility treatment, read the HFEA’s statement from April 2021.

Counselling Support

Our counsellors support our patients through treatment to help you understand what the treatment involves.  They also work with you to consider how it may affect you and those close to you, now and in the future.  All our treatment packages include two counselling sessions, to support your emotional wellbeing as well as your clinical care.  All our fertility support counsellors are members of the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA).

Counselling can give you:

  • the opportunity to talk freely and openly
  • the chance to explore feelings and sensitive issues that are troubling you
  • help in understanding the factors that may be contributing to your difficulties
  • support in finding your own solutions and new ways of coping

Anything you share with your counsellor is treated as confidential unless there are exceptional circumstances.

All HFEA-licensed clinics have to offer you an opportunity to talk to a counsellor about the implications of any suggested treatment before you consent to it.

Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional therapy is the promotion of health and wellbeing through personalised nutrition and lifestyle support. Evidence shows a link between our diet and our fertility.  Working one-to one with a nutritional therapist can help make nutrition and lifestyle changes which may improve the chance of conception, either naturally or with fertility treatment.

Our fertility support nutritional therapist partners are registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and can offer guidance on changes to diet and supplements. They may combine their approach with some life coaching.
