Nutrition and Fertility

Optimum nutrition plays an important part in supporting a healthy pregnancy and baby. Ideally it is best to plan ahead and start with pre-conception care.

It is important to seek the right medical advice to help identify any underlying issues that may be negatively affecting your fertility. Tests may show for example; PCOS, endometriosis or thyroid problems. A low or high BMI can be unhelpful in achieving a pregnancy, as can high levels of stress.

Nutritional Therapy Consultation

Everyone is an individual, with different lifestyles and needs. Our experienced nutritional therapist, Celia Cooper, will help to tailor-make a plan for you to help you maximize your chances of success for a healthy pregnancy.

A consultation will provide you with personalised nutrition advice, a dietary plan, supplement recommendations, recipe and menu ideas as well as the ongoing support and encouragement to make any changes you choose. All the advice you receive will be practical and realistic.

Prior to your first appointment, you will be asked to complete a health and wellbeing questionnaire, which takes about 15 minutes. By reviewing your past and current health concerns, lifestyle and eating habits, a full picture of your health can be obtained. The aim is to establish the root cause of your symptoms and to understand your main health goals. A tailored plan can then be agreed together. Many people benefit from a follow up consultation to monitor progress and agree any new goals.
